Facebook Hell

Ah, Facebook Marketplace. A fresh look at hell.

We’re selling our car (of course – we’re selling everything). I listed it on Facebook Marketplace, and received no less than 13 responses within the first hour. About half of those were “is this still available?” Um. I posted it 60 minutes ago. If it wasn’t, that would be an absolute record. Yes. Yes it is. The next few were “Will you take $___?” (Approximately half of what we listed for.) No. No I will not. YOU HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN IT OR ASKED ANY QUESTIONS YET. And the remaining people have NO CLUE what a “plug-in hybrid” actually is. They all seem to think they can get 300 miles off the electric alone… THEN another full tank worth of miles. Um. No, it doesn’t work that way. Sorry, but I didn’t design it.

The first guy came and looked at it. Chose to pass on a clean title plug-in hybrid and buy a salvage-titled Prius instead. Ok, sure – you do you buddy. But don’t complain to me when your insurance doesn’t like that.

The next guy just… never showed up. And the next 3-4? Didn’t even respond to my messages. Had a girl scheduled to look at it today, but her kiddo got sick, so rescheduled for tomorrow.

Maybe one day… it’ll actually get sold. In the meantime, I still have a business to build. Which brings me to….

Would you believe that Facebook is now charging business accounts $400/month just to be able to post more than twice a month with links included???? WHAT??? Do they understand that small startup businesses often don’t even clear that much in total monthly income for… a LONG time??

So now, I get to completely re-strategize. I can’t post links to this blog from that page anymore. My workaround? I had to drop the blog’s homepage link in my bio and direct every post to that. I hope people actually care enough to go looking. ARGH.
