About Face!!!

This year is our 20th anniversary. We planned to take a cruise to Alaska. But for no good reason, we’ve been procrastinating about actually purchasing the trip. But my dad has been asking for an update because he’s going to stay home with Skipper and needs to alter his work schedule while we’re gone. This will be the first vacation without kids that was longer than a weekend. In 20 years.

In true ADHD fashion, we cannot just stick to a plan. So we decided at the last minute that we aren’t going on a cruise to Alaska at all. We’re going to Vietnam. Because that makes sense – we’re considering moving there, and should probably… you know… put feet on the ground there before actually committing??? What a novel idea!!

But after Harry’s hesitation, we’re really worried he might not want to come with us. So this won’t be our first vacation without kids that lasts longer than a weekend. We’re taking Harry with us. He needs to have the most information possible to help him decide what is best for him. I’d love to just stuff him in my suitcase and make him move, but I know that wouldn’t be good for any of us. So I guess I have to let him make his own mind.

When we asked Harry if he’d like to come with us to experience what Da Nang is like before making a decision, he responded with an enthusiastic “oh, hell yes!” That made my momma heart very happy.

So we bought the tickets. And reserved an Airbnb. It’s perfect – not too expensive (we don’t plan on being there much), not too small (need room to be comfy when we want to chill out), and close enough to the beach for everyone to be happy. Bonus – there’s a Smoothie shop right downstairs. Tastebuds happy!

Da Nang, here we come!!
