Heading Home

One last morning at the Corgi Cafe. Wanted to thank the owner for being so welcoming and helping make this feel like home, so we brought her some of the fruit that we didn’t finish from the Hoi An fruit vendor.

Harry went back to Nam Son Tattoo, at their request, so they could help him clean it up and make sure it looked good before the flight. He brought them a little fruit too.

After packing all our stuff (and barely fitting it all now that we had some souvenirs to transport), we headed down to Frumi, the smoothie shop downstairs (B4-4, An Thuong 38, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang). Stopped to thank the girls that work there – they really did help us feel like we belong, always having a big smile waiting for us. I checked out with our Airbnb host, and she checked to make sure we enjoyed our visit and that we were happy with the room, which we were.

Standing on the patio, waiting for our Grab to take us to the airport, one of the Frumi girls came out with a small box. She gave it to us to enjoy on the way to the airport, thanking us for our stay. Inside were one of the most delicious treats I’ve ever had. It was some kind of cold blue pastry/sweet paste with a dusting of what looked like powdered sugar on top. They were like a little bite of heaven to enjoy one last piece of Da Nang before going home.

We got through security, and found our gate. Luckily, there was a restaurant right next to our gate, where we were able to enjoy one last bowl of pho. Well… Harry and I enjoyed one last bowl of pho. Ken had a Banh Mi. 95% achieved.

It was a bittersweet goodbye – we definitely missed our other people, our pets, and our beds. But Vietnam now holds a very special place in our hearts, and we definitely were not ready to leave.
