Wheels Up!!!

Today is the day – kind of. We’re headed to the airport tonight, but we don’t actually take off until the wee hours.

It’s a busy day – which is part good, part bad. Good because it gives me less time to be anxious, bad because we kind of NEED MORE TIME. Ken and Harry – their visas got approved quickly. But mine is still in limbo. I’m over here refreshing the status page every 15 seconds, hoping for an update. So we hired a Visa Agent to help us expedite things.

As if it wasn’t enough that the soccer league called at the last minute, asking our team to provide Ball Girls for the local semi-pro soccer team’s game last night. Well, I didn’t have enough on my plate, so of course I agreed. HA!

Other than that, Mom’s coming over, we’ve got a soccer game (our actual team this time!), Skipper’s art invitational (OMG!!), Skipper has a sleepover, then we’re heading to the airport.

Mom shows up right on time – not surprised, Mom is never late. Also, this is great because I need moral support and someone to help me not spiral. Skipper is running around doing last-minute Skipper things – getting ready for soccer, packing an overnight bag, you know the drill. Check visa status again. Nothing.

Soccer happens. It always happens. The team does their thing – in the rain – awesome. Dad does his thing without completely falling apart – nice, he’s ready. I manage to coach an entire game while still mentally refreshing a webpage in my head. No status yet. ARGH!

Home about 2, as expected. Sending Skipper off to shower between all the things. Check our bags. Again.

ARGH!!! Had to send Ken to Best Buy to pickup adapters – they run different outlets/voltage over there.

The art invitational was awesome – Skipper’s work is amazing, because of course it is. Time to head home and chow on some leftovers – no time to cook! Check status again. Still nothing.

Drop Skipper off at the sleepover – Dad gets night one without having to wrangle a tween. He’s earned it. Check status again. Approved. FINALLY!! Just in time. By the skin of our teeth, but IN TIME!

Check the bags one more time. Hug everyone for the millionth time, and hop in the Uber.

Da Nang, here we come. For real this time.

Wheels up!

Have fun you guys!! Enjoy, research, ask questions, do what is needed but ultimately trust the process and keep communicating with each other. Oh and…….. go with flow and have fun. I know it can be difficult and frustrating but going with the flow can create some great opportunities……
